Baker Roofing Plans to Move Corporate Headquarters to Garner

Garner attracts nation's third-largest roofing company and 250 jobs.

GARNER, NC – March 2018

The Town of Garner Economic Development Department is pleased to announce that Baker Roofing, the third-largest roofing company in the United States, plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Garner, N.C. The project would bring over 250 jobs to this growing community just southeast of Raleigh.

Baker intends to locate its new offices in a 170,000-square-foot, former big-box retail space on U.S. 401 (Fayetteville Road) in Garner. The renovations of its new corporate campus are estimated to be completed over the next two years, if approved.

“Baker Roofing and its employees are excited about joining the Town of Garner community. We are delighted to be able to acquire this 29-acre site,” said Baker Roofing Chairman Prentiss Baker III. “The town people that we have spoken with have been very welcoming, and we look forward to our new home.”

“When Kmart left Garner in 2013, it left a large space to fill in our community. By locating Baker Roofing’s corporate headquarters in this space, we not only bring life back to a struggling center, we also are bringing a national company with a great reputation to our community,” Garner Economic Development Director Joe Stallings said. “Garner continues to be a great place for companies to locate their corporate headquarters and operations.
