Midland

Located on the Rocky River in southern Cabarrus County just 25 minutes from Uptown Charlotte, Midland has experienced a 17.8% growth in tax base over the last three years, and is on track to best that with an expected 21% growth in tax base over the next three.

With a growing advanced manufacturing cluster anchored by Corning’s Charlotte Region Fiber-Optic plant, Midland has leveraged its premiere Charlotte region location along with a short rail freight line running through the community to land Intertape Polymer Group’s (IPG) first North Carolina facility. With an initial $49M in investment and wages well above the county average, this advanced manufacturing facility will produce supplies for clients in the exploding e-commerce sector including Amazon. Currently under construction, the facility will open Q1 2017.

Incorporated in 2001, Midland has experienced strong tax base and population growth due to its proximity to the Charlotte marketplace and excellent Cabarrus County Schools. With two sections of the Carolina Thread Trail along the Rocky River, a 190-acre park under construction (the largest in Cabarrus County), and the addition of excellent paying jobs, the quality of life in Midland is growing!
