If tourism director applications and tourism revenues are any indication, Elizabeth City continues to be a place where people want to be.
The Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Tourism Development Authority thus far has received between 50 and 70 applications for its vacant tourism director job, TDA Chairwoman Rhonda Twiddy reported last week.
In other news, the TDA is reporting better-than-expected tourism revenues for the 2017-18 year. The revenues are based on the 6 percent occupancy tax charged on each hotel and motel stay in Pasquotank County.
