Company Working to Draw Retailers to Leland Site; Town Offers Help

As one developer breaks ground for new retail and restaurant space near the Leland Wal-Mart, another company is still working to attract retailers to a nearby 63-acre property between Ploof Road and Ocean Gate Plaza. Twin Rivers Capital, a Charleston, South Carolina real estate development company, has had the 63-acre property under contract for more than a year and has been attempting to negotiate with prospective tenants for the property. Gary Vidmar, Leland’s economic development director, said as Twin Rivers has been talking to retailers, the town has assisted the company with technical questions.
