Concord approves voluntary annexation and new economic development

The Concord City Council took steps to push economic development and bring new jobs to the area at their meeting this month. “We’ve got a lot of warehouse space and distribution space in the city,” Lloyd Payne, city manager, said. “We’re trying to steer away from that. I want industrial manufacturing, better-paying jobs producing a product – not just a bunch of truck bays that are storing and distributing stuff out.”
