Home Construction in Brunswick Highest Since Recession

Residential home growth in Brunswick County is the highest it has been since 2007, just before the housing market crash. Based on the numbers, county officials say they expect the trend to continue going upward. More than 2,077 residential construction permits were issued in the fiscal year 2015-2016, compared to 2,841 residential permits in fiscal year 2006-2007. After the housing market crashed around 2008, the number of residential permits issued in Brunswick County bottomed out in fiscal year 2010-2011 with 916 permits. Since then, the number of permits issued for homes has climbed steadily upward.
