Kinston is ‘Expanding its palette’ with first draft of new brand

A Greenville, S.C. consulting firm presented Kinston with its first draft of a brand identity Thursday meant to promote the town as a destination. The logo of the brand showed what some thought of as organic, petals, leaves, a peacock, or, an icon whose interpretation is left up to the viewer. Beneath the icon was the word KINSTON, with a distinctive S in the middle and below that was the tagline: Expand Your Palette. Aaron Arnett of the Greenville, S.C. consulting firm Arnett Muldrow that is working with the Lenoir County Tourism Development Authority (Visit Kinston) and its partners to develop Kinston’s brand, said the logo could evolve over the coming weeks. “Nothing is set in stone,” he said. “This is just a draft.”
