An uptick in zoning requests underscores the continued revitalization of downtown Marshall. “Several new folks are looking to put in businesses, particularly on Main Street,” Town Clerk Karen Kiehna said. “Right now Main Street is down to only three or four empty buildings … They may be empty right now, but there’s something going on in them.” Main Street will also benefit from the completed renovations at the Marshall Pocket Park. Volunteer crews have helped town workers by installing and planting raised beds at the small public space at the intersection of Main Street and Hardwick Branch. A gazebo is also planned for the site.
