Midland’s Growth Helping Town’s Budget

June 7, 2017

“We are able to keep such a great tax rate due to the excellent financial decisions of our town council and the ongoing growth in our community,” said Town Manager Doug Paris. “The council’s past decision to partner with the City of Monroe on the gas pipeline has provided the town continued revenue diversification. In addition, over the last year the town’s tax base has grown 6.99 percent, the highest annual increase since the recession. That growth has been the result of new development and voluntary annexations into the town.”
