The Morganton City Council meeting was filled with a new industry that might come to the city, sewer lines and grants on Monday night. A public hearing will be held before the city can authorize an economic development incentive for a business that’s hoping to bring a new industry to Morganton. The company, being called Project JP3 for confidentiality reasons, would spend about $11.5 million on the new plant and equipment and create about 42 new jobs, according to a previous News Herald article.
