May 4, 2018

A local business has announced a two-phase expansion that will create 54 full-time jobs in Rockingham County. Southern Finishing has agreed to invest $1.48 million over the next five years in building up-fit and new machinery and equipment at an industrial facility that once housed Stoneville Furniture on Main Street. The announcement was made on April 17, following the approval of a performance agreement between the company, Rockingham County and the Town of Stoneville. “I’m excited to announce the expansion of one our existing industries,” said Jan Critz-Yokely, director of the Rockingham County Center for Economic Development, Small Business & Tourism. “This comes on the heels of the expansion announced with Albaad and it is further proof that our focus on business growth and retention is paying off,” she said. “Southern Finishing has been a valuable employer and community supporter for 40 years now. We appreciate the company’s dedication to Stoneville and Rockingham County.”
