Amazon may have passed over the Triad, but local leaders say that they learned a lot about working together and that they are hoping to mount a regional approach for a new target: Apple. Leaders from three of the region’s leading economic development agencies said Thursday that they’re ready to work together again to recruit a new Apple operation that potentially would bring thousands of jobs to the Triad. Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan: “I would say ‘yes’, we’re probably in a very good position to offer a pitch, because we’ve already done our homework with Amazon. We have the footprint of a proposal based on Amazon.”
