Tammy Absher, director of Lexington Business and Community Development, has been the city’s liaison with Uptown Lexington for 25 years. She said in that time, the organization has been very involved in the development of the district. “It is amazing to see how much change that has come about in that time,” Absher said. “Uptown Lexington, working in tandem with the city, has completely transformed Main Street. I don’t think any of this would have happened without Uptown Lexington being in place.”
