December 8, 2017

VEKA, a German-based vinyl extrusion company, will invest $18 million in a new Morganton facility after the city and Burke County approved economic incentives for the project, previously known by its code name Quantum Leap. The company will invest the money over the next four years, during which it plans to create 102 jobs, according to a press release from Burke Development Inc. The new VEKA facility will join the other North American locations in Reno, Nevada, Fombell, Pennsylvania and Terrell, Texas, the release said. “North Carolina was a perfect location choice for us,” said Joe Peilert, VEKA’s North American president. “The City of Morganton has welcomed us with open arms. We are excited to join this great community as a new neighbor.”
