Black’s Tire Service, Inc, a tire distributor and service company, will invest $2.7 million to expand their current distribution center in Whiteville, North Carolina.
The expansion will create 26 jobs, and doubles the size of the warehouse.
The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. (EDPNC) were instrumental in supporting the company’s decision to expand in Columbus County.
As an incentive, a performance-based grant of $75,000 from the One North Carolina Fund, as well as a matching grant from the Whiteville local government, will help facilitate Black’s Tire Service expansion in Columbus County. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs.
Additionally, the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, Columbus County, Columbus County Economic Development Commission, and City of Whiteville were key partners in the project.
